Rock Drill MF Rod (commonly referred to as Speed Drill Rod) features a male-female threaded configuration, with a male thread at one end and a female thread at the opposite end. This design enables direct coupling with the shank adapter without requiring an additional sleeve connector, thereby resolving the inherent issue of vibration-induced instability in traditional equal-diameter threaded joints. The optimized rapid transition mechanism between male and female threads enhances tool-change efficiency during drilling operations, significantly improving overall operational productivity.  

1、Structural Features and Engineering Advantages

• This series of drill rods incorporates a patented differential-diameter thread connection system, featuring an asymmetric progressive thread design at the male (external) and female (internal) ends. Key innovations compared to conventional equal-diameter thread systems include:
• Torque transmission efficiency reaching 98.6% (per ASTM A919 testing protocols).
• Direct integration with shank adapters, eliminating the need for coupling sleeves.
• 30° tapered thread engagement surfaces, increasing contact area by 40%.
• Vibration damping coefficient enhanced to 0.85 (ISO 3408 compliant).

2. Manufacturing Processes and Material Properties  

As an ISO 9001:2015-certified manufacturer, we operate two fully automated production facilities in China, equipped with:  

• Vacuum degassing/oxygen decarburization (VD/VOD) refining furnaces  
• 5-axis CNC thread machining centers  
• Optical emission spectrometers (OES) for full-spectrum analysis  

Our rods are fabricated from modified AISI 4140 Cr-Mo-V alloy steel (ASTM standard), subjected to a triple heat treatment process:  

• 1. Normalization  
• 2. Quenching and tempering  
• 3. Surface nitriding

• Core toughness: ≥45 J (Charpy impact test)
